چکیده

R. Alarcon Nuclear Physics Laboratory and Department ofPhysics, University ofIllinois, Champaign, Illinois 61820 (Received 8 October 1987) Proton and neutron transition densities in ' Si are examined by a combination of intermediate energy (e,e') and (p,p') reactions and mirror electromagnetic transition rates. This analysis is performed for the 2+i and 22 states at 2.234 and 3.499 MeV in Si. Electron scattering data are presented for these states. Shell-model calculations for the proton and neutron transition matrix elements and proton transition densities are compared with the electromagnetic results. The proton transition densities are reasonably predicted for the 2+l state but are not adequately predicted for the

A second-order approximation to the Faddeev-Watson-Lovelace treatment of the rearrangement channel is used in a three-body scattering cross sections. In this formalism, the Three-body wave function is expressed by three coupled integral equations, the Faddeev equations, which contian the two-body (off-shell) transition amplitudes, and proved the uniqueness of their solutions. This amplitude c...

The sensitivity of momentum distributions, recoil polarization observables, and response functions for nucleon knockout by polarized electron scattering to channel coupling in final-state interactions is investigated using a model in which both the distorting and the coupling potentials are constructed by folding density-dependent nucleon-nucleon effective interactions with nuclear transition d...

Calculation of the triple and double cross sections in the proton-hydrogen impact at the ionization channel by removing singularity in the scattering amplitudes

In the present work, the triple and double cross sections of atomic hydrogen ionization in collision with the proton are  calculated. The potential of the interaction is considered as a Coulombic;  also,  the first and second order Born approximations have been used. The singularity of the Green operator in the second order approximation has been removed for the analytical solution of the scatt...

Impact of range straggling and multiple scattering on proton therapy of brain, using a slab head phantom

Background: The advantages of proton beam in radiation therapy- like small lateral scattering as well as absence of exit dose tail in the organs which are after the tumor- make it capable of delivering more treatment doses to the target and much lesser to the critical tissues near it. Materials and Methods: In this study, the Monte Carlo MCNPX code has been used to simulate a slab head phantom ...
